PPSDC’s Thom Vollenweider Honored at San Diego Press Club Awards

PPSDC’s own Thom Vollenweider recently earned multiple awards in the Sports, Portraits, and Feature categories during the 52nd Annual San Diego Press Club Excellence in Journalism Awards.

Thom has been a proud member of the Press Club since 1976—nearly five decades of dedication to the craft. Reflecting on that early career decision, he shared that joining the organization “was one of the best choices I ever made. It opened doors each year to meet editors and decision makers in person.”

Each year, the San Diego Press Club honors the region’s best communicators during this prestigious event, celebrating excellence across journalism, photography, writing, design, and media. This year, more than 500 awards were presented across 130 categories in 10 divisions, recognizing San Diego’s top reporters, photographers, artists, videographers, and public relations professionals, as well as outstanding student journalists.
