MENTORSHIP

Our membership consists of both experienced and successful photographers as well as new and emerging photographers. Our members new and old realize the importance of helping each other and sharing their photographic knowledge. This type of mentorship not only helps with your photography and business skills, but also helps sets ethical standards of professionalism in the industry.

IMAGE COMPETITION

One of the most exciting and educational parts of being a member of Professional Photographers of San Diego County is our bi-monthly digital Image Competition. We offer five competitions per year with a maximum entry of four images per competition. Image competition was designed to improve and perfect your photography skills. Our panel of judges will critique and score your images according to Professional Photographers of America’s (PPA) competition standards. A new set of judges is selected for each competition. Image Competition at the local level prepares you for state and regional competition as well as PPA international competition. Many of our members are striving for their Master of Photography degree. Offered through PPA, this degree is awarded by earning print and service merits. PPSDC now offers lower-cost membership levels suitable for students and new members.
